"From the beginning of
my quest for enlightenment in this lifetime, I was always guided to
carry my children and family members with me along the way. My
process honored the principles of "union through synthesis" which
demanded that my children and the intricacies of their lives be an
integral aspect of awakening. Their spiritual development was in my
hands as their mother, and I assure you that they were not enamoured
or impressed that I was a master healer or renowned meditation
teacher. I taught them through the direct example of living mastery
in the midst of it all. I demonstrated the sacred duty of staying
100% present to all life experiences and remained vitally connected
to them as well as to myself. And although, I did enter into deep
periods of meditation, periods of fasting and extended periods of
full immersion in divine light, I maintained my role as a mother and
head of the household. Often my children would accompany me to
ashrams or monasteries, would assist me in my international travels
and teachings or would be by my side when engulfed in the process of
transfiguration and later during what is referred to as yogic death.
They have witnessed the fire of initiation first hand and the
potently profound presence of the Ascended Masters in my life.
Even though my children and now my
grandchildren have witnessed and experienced a great deal of
spiritual phenomena, meals are cooked, laundry is done, homework for
school is completed and things like braces on teeth and shopping at
the local mall are also a part of our shared lifestyle. I have
taught them the importance and duty of being involved in the
community in which they live and of knowing and loving their
neighbors. I have taught them to be philanthropic and engaged world
citizens. I have taught them to sense their soul purpose and to
fulfill it. What I know is that it is a very deep road to travel
with your loved ones, when commitment to a higher reality is the
foundation that you hold sacred and whether or not each family
member is always appreciative of your 'sacrifices' as a spiritual
seeker or initiate. The pitfall that is so common is when the seeker
projects their self-centered need for an enlightened environment on
their spouse or children and unconsciously wants everyone at the
breakfast table to already be enlightened as a safety cushion for
their own insecurities or lack of self containment. How often do
seekers return home from a meditation retreat or spiritual gathering
and become cranky with their loved ones because they were 'high'
when sitting at their teacher’s feet or meditating sans real life
and are brought 'down' when exposed to the issues of their friends
and family? What do we really have here?
Beloveds, it is one thing to touch
the hem of higher consciousness when unengaged and removed from the
world. It is quite another degree of embodiment to live in the fray
and yet sustain immersion in the divine and from that immersion
offer what is needed to whomever might be in need from moment, to
moment, to moment. Life presents challenges for growth that increase
your opportunity to gain in self-mastery. It is often that a major
life crisis like illness, loss, or an unexpected accident turns the
search light on high, precisely where your soul lessons are most
needed. Responding to lawsuits or caring for a sick child as an
example are not unspiritual. They are utterly rich with their demand
of you to exercise divine alignment, seek guidance and obey it, as
well as apply your full knowledge of universal laws and attunement
to divine qualities to the matter at hand.
My teaching is a tantric teaching
at its roots that seeks union with all life through Divine
Synthesis. Judgments of this being good or that being bad have
little relation when all experiences are equally embraced without
qualification and therefore the opposite ends of the stick cease to
separate and divide. I am here to convert darkness to light. I am
not here to hide in a cave and avoid contact with the world. This is
self-mastery in the world where it is needed most.
Mastery in all
three worlds of divine-spiritual, mental-emotional and
physical-material, allows the illusion of fear and lack to fall
away, leaving only the Great Presence as the onlooker and witness to
all the playing out of this and that. Mastery of all three worlds is
where enlightenment begins. This not a juggling act when it is
consummated and the world of one’s omnipresence, one’s soul and
one’s humanity becomes a unified trinity of a single embodiment. The
supra-mental state allows seamless movement in service to the forces
of cause and the reflections of effect, all the while remaining
neutral and fluid in the moment, pushing away nothing and grasping
for nothing.
When I am with my grown sons I
speak about what interests them from sports to their professional
lives. When I am with my daughter I share the things that a mother
and daughter share. However, it is always the soul bond that is
primary in what is being shared between myself and my children. When
I am with my grandkids, I play and I become a spirit-child myself,
all the while holding court with them in a deep way. Eye contact is
established and through the window of the soul our shared universal
existence is acknowledged. They light up to be recognized as
universal souls, which is usually followed by a lot a joyous
prancing about and the glee of a bit of whimsical mischief, as they
vie for their grandmother’s heart and easily win the prize!
Ahh... the lela of the Gods is all
around us. All is a theater, all is a play. Play well. Enjoy the
production. Make it your own. Offer your pearls of wisdom in
gratitude back to God. And sing praises to the Divine for the gift
of each and every life pearl that becomes the garland of your
being".
