Universal Teachings of Wisdom is a spiritual and life-path that is
rooted in the principle of service... service to the Divine, to
the planet and to humanity. It is also a philosophy that
recognizes the human race as our planet's greatest natural
resource. And yet however beautiful and powerful the teaching
transmissions, discourses and tutorials might be, they must be
embodied and brought into wide-sweeping application at the most
practical levels. Universal laws and principles must become a
living interconnectivity that translates into planetary
sustainability. The foremost higher purpose of the Brotherhood of
Light at this time of our planet's history is the advocacy of the
human birthright of equal access to food, housing, education,
health-care, and economic opportunity.
Some years ago when
I received a new mandate to create service orientated businesses
in the health and healing field, I also began to enter the
international arena of humanitarian and environmental awareness by
attending conferences, seminars and symposiums on human values and
planetary sustainability. To my delight, I found myself sitting
with all of the wonderful as well as successful companies, whose
products filled the shelves of my pantry and home from the owners
of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, to the founder of Celestial
Seasoning Teas, to Aveda Hair and Body Products. What was so
uplifting and educational was to hear first hand how each company
was dedicated to making a difference by using their product or
service to also provide a positive message that would educate and
uplift society. Each business owner had a fresh perspective on how
they could create a better environment for their employees and a
better world for everyone.
I was very
fortunate to have this richly rewarding educational experience, as
well as to have made many new friends that were leaders in the
rapidly growing arena of "green business" and humane corporate
governance. The three common threads that enjoined this new and
thriving business community was service, stewardship and
solutions. I found all of the foundational underpinnings inherent
to the Universal Teachings of Wisdom to be entirely resonant and
complimentary with what I witnessed and rejoiced during my
international travels in support of new business and financial
paradigms.
My conclusions
are as follows: No person, no community, no religion, no nation
can continue to live in a self-centered vacuum. We have reached a
precipice wherein every man, woman and child must make a quantum
leap in global awareness. International instability across the
board is the result of the conflict between self-interest and
common interest. These two factors must evolve toward a new and
responsible balance if world peace and prosperity are to become
the birthright of our collective humanity.
Service is a life
sustaining principle. Now, more than any other time in history, we
stand before an unprecedented turning point. We have reached our
great moment. Our decision "to serve" will collectively shape the
fate of future generations. Enlightened enterprise seeks to
demonstrate the living principle of service.... service to the
divine, the individual, the community and to the world.
